當大家有機會看到我這篇網誌時，我可以告訴你，你已經是比地球75%的人富裕。

相信大家會感到莫明奇妙，但事實上，這個地球的另一邊，有許多人正面臨生命、貧窮、疾病、飢餓、戰爭......的問題，可有想過自己仍然有生命氣息，仍然健康，縱然不算富庶，生活亦總算有温飽，有瓦遮頭，身處香港有不會面對戰爭的威脅，其實已經相當幸福呢！

記得多年前(原來已是差不多四年前)看過一篇文章 - 談到如果壓縮後的地球變成一百人的村莊，確實發人心省。

想不到在網上搜尋時找到這篇文章，找到文章的作者原來是美國史丹福大學醫學研究所Phillip Marter 先生在網絡討論區發表的。現再次轉載，與大家分享。

As the World Turns

If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following.

There would be:

57 Asians

21 Europeans

14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south

8 would be Africans

52 would be female

48 would be male

70 would be non-white
30 would be white

70 would be non-Christian
30 would be Christian

89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual

6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States.

80 would live in substandard housing

70 would be unable to read

50 would suffer from malnutrition

(ONE)1 would be near death;

(ONE)1 would be near birth;

(ONE)1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education;

(ONE)1 (yes,only1) would own computer.

When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent.

And, therefore . . .

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare, even in the United States.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them, or even touch them on the shoulder, you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can read this message, you have just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

As you read this and are reminded how life is in the rest of the world, remember just how blessed you really are!

壓縮後的地球百人村莊

如果把世界人類按照現在的情況，比例壓縮成一個一百人的村莊，我們會看到下列的結果：

57 個亞洲人、21 個歐洲人、14 個西半球人、8 個非洲人

52 個女人、48 個男人

70 個有膚色的人、30 個白人

70 個人非基督徒、30 個基督徒

89 個異性戀、11 個同性戀

有6個人擁有全世界59%的財富，而這6個人都在美國

80 個人居住情況低於標準

70 個人不識字；50 個人營養不良

1 個人瀕臨死亡，另一個人即將出生

1個人 (Yes，only ONE！) 受過大學教育；1 個人有電腦

從這個壓縮後的角度來看，世界上的人需要彼此接納、諒解和教育，是再明顯也不過的事。

因此：

如果你的冰箱裡有食物，身上有衣服，頭上有屋頂可以遮陽避雨，躺下有地方可以睡，那麼你比全世界75% 的人要富足

如果你每天醒來覺得自己還算健康，那麼你已經比100萬個即將在一週內離開人世的人幸福

如果你銀行中或皮夾裏有錢又有餘錢可以放在盤中當小費，那麼你是世界排名8%以上的富人

如果你可以信仰宗教，而不需為此害怕遭到困擾；不受迫害、監禁、屠殺，那麼你就比世界上30億人要幸福

如果你不曾遭逢戰爭的危難、入獄的孤寂、折磨的悲痛、飢餓的大苦，那麼你比全球5億人要幸福

如果你的雙親仍然健在，又沒有離異，你是萬幸之人

如果你會握住他人的手、擁抱他人或者拍拍他人的肩膀，那麼你是有福之人，因為你能給予他人療傷止痛的接觸

如果你抬頭挺胸、面帶微笑地真心感恩，那麼你是有福之人；因為多數人都能夠做卻吝於這麼做

如果你能讀到這個訊息，那麼你就收到了一位一直關懷你的人的雙倍祝福；此外，你比世界上20億不識字的人幸福

當你讀到這個訊息，你就知道了世界上其他的人過得是什麼樣的日子

記得你是多麼有福氣的人！
